Ava's is now called something else, like mi amore, or something like that . I stopped thinking I found a new place, only to find out it wasn't. Basically the same thing that Ava's was food wise. I had grilled chicken with sides of lentils and sweet plantains. The first thing I noticed was the size of the portions. If you're the kind of person, that judges the value by how much is on the plate, that you're liable to be disappointed. I'm not sure if I had a small chicken breast that was pounded really thin or if it was some kind of a cutlet, but to me it was cooked probably 5 minutes to long. One side was almost leathery and it was devoid of any kind of juiciness. Everything else was fine and well seasoned. To be fair, I've run across a similar situation in other restaurants that serve the same kind of food so maybe cooking chicken that way is a cultural thing.
What a gem! We've found this place by accident, and were so happy we did! It's a small family-owned place, all the meals are cooked right there from scratch.
My husband had a Creole breakfast, and I had a combo of rice, beans, egg and avocado on the side.

Everything here was great! I have never had Venezuelan food before. So it was a really a treat to try something new. The owners (husband and wife team) are warm and welcoming. The espresso is amazing. Seems to be a well kept local secret that hopefully you'll be lucky enough to discover like I did!
Good coffee, decent food. The guy who runs the place (his name is Angel) is super friendly and even gave us a free snack to try while we waited for our food. Would definitely recommend
I loved how they have toys for the little kids. We were able to sit ans enjoy our meal :)
